2nd Update: First custom physics concept
Hello there!
This week was dedicated to work on early game concepts, art style but mainly on physics.
The main problem we may face on the upcoming weeks is how do we simulate an earthquake. They are certainly not simple, they are described by several factors like energy released, their duration, ground acceleration and the impact on the environment. For this reason, combined with our limited release window, we shall focus on simulating movement that feels believable, but not necessarily accurate.
We have now a first concept of how this could be implemented, by essentially shaking the floor from one side to another. A video is on display to show how this looks, how much the floor moves and how fast are variables that may allow us to create different difficulties later.
We’ll return next week with a new update.
